There’s nothing more rewarding than finding a way to help a youngster find him or herself through education. Sail training offers a unique form of education – it is an ideal platform for basic seamanship, fostering courage, leadership, camaraderie and endurance. To learn how to sail a ship such as those visiting Kenosha during the Kenosha Days of Discovery, helps instill the basic qualities of working together as a team and finding strength within yourself to do things you never thought possible – all virtues a young trainee will carry with him throughout his life.
The Kenosha Days of Discovery would like to provide more education under sail opportunities for students. These can take the form of a 3-hour Lake Watch at Pier Wisconsin in Milwaukee or a scholarship for a week on board learning science in real time applications.
You can help by sending a check in any amount – it will all go towards experiential education. We are working directly with the Kenosha YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha. Please make checks payable to Kenosha Days of Discovery, P. O. Box 594, Kenosha, WI 53141. Fed ID# 72-1551731. Thank you.
